Pastor Heather Godsey
Senior Minister
-
Rev. Heather Godsey originally hails from Bloomington, IN where the folks of First Christian Church nurtured her early faith and mentored her into ministry. She has a BA in English from Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, received her M. Div from Vanderbilt Divinity School, and was ordained to the service of the Church in 2003.
After a short stint in Children’s Ministry, she spent 15 years in ecumenical campus ministry at Case Western University and then the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She then spent 5 years serving two congregations as an intentional interim minister before accepting the call to settled ministry here at Community Christian Church as Senior Minister.
Pastor Heather is enamored with story-telling of all kinds, but particularly in how American Christianity is portrayed through popular art and film. She describes herself as a theater nerd who likes to imagine that one day Broadway Chaplain will be an actual job title. Currently, she performs nightly for her Shih-tzu, Charlie, in order to earn the right to live and share her cheesy eggs with him.
